EDCDs communicate with the Millennium software through Site Control Units (SCU or ESCU). Each SCU/ESCU contains 99 programmable door controllers and two programmable auxiliary relays for elevator control. Each EDCD has six available alarm points for integration with fire alarm systems. Each SCU/ESCU utilizes a twisted pair, multi-drop, RS-485 polling scheme to communicate with each EDCD and the Millennium software.
